Sam Knob

Expansive field, often full of wildflowers with Sam Knob rising magnificently in the background, this is a perfect iconic mountain location.

Things to know:

• 1 hour drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway from downtown Asheville.

• About a ten minute walk from the parking lot to the field.

• The beginning of the trail is often muddy so bring another pair of shoes to wear for the hike in.

• This is on the same road as the location above - Black Balsam Knob. Some people choose to add on more time in order to do both locations.
