Frolic along a river bank? Amble amongst cows on an insanely picturesque mountain meadow with more mountains surrounding you? Laugh and joke around with clients who seem more like old friends? Yes! Yes! YASSSSS!! Though my frolicking around river banks ending up more like dunking my left foot into a river – but the photo that I got whilst that happened? WORTH IT. Can’t wait to frolic, amble, and laugh with Laura and Victor next April at their wedding!
Emily and Jay dated while attending Virginia Tech and they incorporated elements of their alma mater throughout their wedding day. They had the university’s flag flying out welcoming everyone who arrived and I loved that they had keys to shake (in Hokie fashion) at the end of the night.

Ryan proposed to Shelly at the Botanical Gardens and then surprised her with lunch with her family at the wonderfully delicious, nationally accoladed Curate. It was a no brainer to have their engagement portraits made in these same gorgeous places. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year at the Masonic Temple in downtown Asheville!
From the “Sip, Sip, Hooray!” napkins to the golden accents that were sprinkled throughout, eye candy abounded at Kia and Mark’s Mountain Magnolia Inn wedding. Every detail was gorgeous and often witty. And, I cannot say enough how much I loved the maid of honor’s “MOH” hat – so awesome!

My best-est buddy o’pal is expecting her second baby. So, of course, when she and her family came to visit us here in Asheville, I had to take some photos of her beautiful baby bump!
Alison may be one of the sweetest brides that I have encountered and I love that she and Tate have been friends since elementary school. They had absolutely perfect weather and their wedding highlights how beautiful a wedding right here in Asheville’s downtown and it’s surrounding area can truly be. We traveled to The Renaissance, The Haywood Park Hotel, the Botanical Gardens, Central United Methodist Church and The Venue. And, I have to believe that Mary Bell of Mary Bell Events carries a magic wand that makes everything gorgeous wherever she goes!

Now that Alison is married, I can share this bridal portrait that we did on this beautiful mountain. From the moody fog to the sweeping views, we were thrilled to to have witnessed an array of different scenes from high on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This was such a fun wedding that took place at The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek (in Sylva, NC). At the end of the ceremony, the groom’s sister and her band played The Beatles’ “When I’m 64.” They and a few guests also had kazoos and hummed along to the tune. Such a cute and unique idea!

I was lucky enough to be able to spend not one day but two days with Alex and Joseph for their wedding weekend in Bryson City, NC. When they first approached me, they told me how they wanted to spend the majority of their wedding day with their family and not have to worry about portraits of the two of them until the day after the wedding. It ended up being absolutely perfect intuition because seconds before their ceremony, the skies opened up with a torrential rain. But as we all know, rain on a wedding day is good luck and they will certainly have good luck in abundance! Thankfully, the rain let up just for us to do family and wedding party portraits. The rain started up again right as we wrapped the last portrait.
The day after wedding portraits were relaxing and super fun as we hiked from waterfalls to riverbeds in the Smoky Mountains in beautiful weather. Such a great way to extend the wedding weekend!
